Het Himalaya gebergte is een geweldig en uniek avontuur! Wij hebben verschillende mogelijkheden voor u om Nepal in al zijn diversiteit te verkennen. Ontdek Nepal’s adembenemende bergen, het platteland, de traditie en de cultuur! En ervaar hoe hartverwarmend de bevolking u tegemoet treedt. Elke optie kan gecombineerd worden met een bezoek aan verschillende liefdadigheidsprojecten. Dit is zowel aan het begin als aan het einde van uw reis mogelijk! Alle reizen kunnen georganiseerd worden in overleg met onze Nepalese reisexperts.

Avontuurlijke bergtochten

Ontdek de schitterende natuur, terwijl je de meest afgelegen gebieden “on top of the world” ontdekt. Deze optie is alleen geschikt voor mensen, die fit en gezond genoeg zijn om op grote hoogte te verkeren. Al onze trektochten zijn zorgvuldig uitgezocht, worden geleid door ervaren gidsen, kennen de omgeving en de hoogterisico’s. Zowel voor groepen als voor individuen is een “op maat gesneden”reis te organiseren.

Wie zelfstandig wil reizen, eigen plannen heeft, kan gebruik maken van onze ervaring. Wij kunnen u adviseren w.b. praktische- en veiligheidsaspecten, nodig om uw reis tot een waarlijk “last true frontiers of nature” te maken.

Individuele tour

We kunnen ook helpen met onze ervaring en steun en onze netwerkcontacten voor diegenen die onafhankelijk willen zijn en hun eigen avontuur willen maken. We kunnen advies geven voor de praktische en veiligheidsaspecten van de bergen zodat je volop van de geweldige natuur van de Himalayas kunt genieten.

Dorpstour

Een unieke gelegenheid om het leven en de cultuur van de Nepalezen te ervaren, die op de lager gelegen hellingen van de Himalaya wonen. Dit is uitermate geschikt voor mensen, die een minder inspannende ervaring ambiëren. Het doet denken aan trektochten in Europese of Amerikaanse bergen. In de meeste dorpen zijn pensions en “lodges”beschikbaar. U kunt ook kiezen voor een “Village Home Stay”: dan verblijft u in het huis van een traditionele Nepalese familie.

Dit is een unieke ervaring om hun oude, traditionele manier van leven te zien, wat betekent: Vroeg opstaan, thee drinken met de familie, waarna de dagelijkse bezigheden beginnen. Het veld moet geploegd, de rijst gepeld. Ervaar de eenvoud van het dorpsleven en proef het voedsel, dat op natuurlijke wijze geteeld en gekookt wordt.

Meditatie en bergtochten

Omarm de eenvoud van alleen-zijn met meditatie en ervaar de magie van de bergen. U kunt verblijven in een afgelegen pension. Met meditatie kunt u het diepe mysterie en de vredigheid van het Himalaya gebergte ervaren.

IAls u wilt, kunt u kiezen voor meer dan één locatie, zodat u ten volle kunt genieten van de grootsheid van de Himalaya. Een bezoek aan diverse kloosters en tempels,met meditatieretraites en onderricht van gerespecteerde meditatieleraren is ook mogelijk.

Our Current Fund Raising WISH LIST for 2018/2019

Year by year our project development has continued to evolve and grow and require ongoing support. We truly appreciate all contributions – small and large!!! If for example, 500 people gave €100/$100 we will be well on the way to achieving all our goals of this year!

1. Bhaktapur Self-Sustaining Orphan Children Home (16 children & 2 mothers):
a) Our beloved cow died in the monsoon while giving birth – she not only provided healthy milk and dairy products for our home but also provided the important compost for our organic farming. The cost to replace her we require €1000 -We have an update on our wish list, The cow has now been kindly donated by a lovely donor.
b) We also need to replace bed sheets and purchase winter jackets, pants, hats, gloves and shoes for our children and mothers. Estimated cost: €850
c) We have fully repaired our building after the damage of the earthquake plus painted inside – but we still require funds to paint the external walls of the building to make our Home truly feel “home” ☺. Estimated cost: €3500

2. Annapurna Self-Sustaining Orphan Children Home and organic farm (35 children & 6 mothers):
a) We need to establish a new water supply on our organic farmland and plan to dig a well to ensure safe healthy water. Estimated cost, including pump: €2500 
b) Winter clothes – pants, jackets, hats, gloves and shoes – are needed for children and mothers Estimated cost: €1300 We have kindly been gifted a donation to cover our winter clothes costs.
c) We have taken in new children this year (under Nepal Child Welfare request) thus we have ongoing need of sponsorship for some of our children to help provide funding for their school and college needs - €650 yearly commitment.
d) We would love to secure two additional pieces of land to our Organic Farm Land that will be ideal for our Eco-Building project (see below #5) – this will make our “Annapurna Children Village” much easier to evolve and provide a more secure environment. Estimated cost: €35000 

3. Our Microcredit project continues expanding:
a) We continue to implement our Skills Training program, in literacy (€450 for six months), weaving (€350 for 3months), sewing (€1100  for 6 months), new vegetable production (€150 for 2 week program), cooperative management & development (€250 for 1 week training) – for our micro-credit recipients, who wish to continue to develop their own capacity and ability to lift themselves out of the poverty cycle. We plan on 2-3 trainings for 2019.
b) Add to our microcredit loan fund – as we continue to reach more people in our microcredit outreach our need for additional funds to provide loans increases – these funds continue to circulate, as loans are repaid the funds are used again and again for future loans. Over the next 2 years we would like to add a further €5000 to our microcredit loan fund. 

4. Earthquake resilient eco-building (bamboo & compressed earth bricks) efforts:
We are in the final design and planning stage of our next big building project. The buildings will house our children and mothers from our Annapurna Home on our organic farmland. Plus buildings for our women skills training center and teenage counselling space to continue our community outreach programs. We will require significant funding for this project beginning (we hope!) in mid 2019 so any tips for grants or introductions to helpful foundations/charities is welcomed. And right now we require €3500  to complete the design and engineering process and establish a boundary fence on the property.

Kira and our team of supporters are pro bono workers for HandswithHands and cover their extra expenses (e.g. for traveling) themselves and directly monitor the projects in the field. Therefore all funds go directly to the people of Nepal who are most in need, not to big organisations or government bodies which have potential for corruption. With this, 100% of donations arrive where they are most needed.

Sponsoring a child in one of our Children Homes in Nepal

Het loont om een kind te sponsoren uit één van onze kindertehuizen, zodat het de kans krijgt het maximale te halen uit de in Nepal beschikbare schoolopleiding. Het geeft hen een betere ondergrond in de hoofdvakken en in Engels, vereist voor vervolgonderwijs , en een grotere kans te slagen voor het “Iron Gate” eindexamencertificaat.

Voor deze kinderen zien wij onderwijs als prioriteit nummer 1!!!

“Sponsorship” dekt de kosten van:

Schoolgeld, schooluniformen, boeken, pennen, schoolexcursies, incidentele kosten en lunches. Bovendien eenmaal per jaar een medische check-up en een setje schoolkleding. Voor babies, peuters en kleuters wordt de “pre-school” gesponsord. Zonodig worden luiers en aanvullende medische zorg verstrekt.

Als u geld en\of tijd hebt: u kunt echt het verschil maken voor een kind. Hebt u geld en tijd voldoende, dan kunt u ook het gesponsorde kind bezoeken!

Voor 650 euro per jaar kunt u de sponsor van een kind worden!

AHet liefst zouden wij voor de kinderen continuïteit en veiligheid willen bewerkstelligen d.m.v. langdurige sponsoring. Maar wij begrijpen wel dat niet iedereen hiertoe in staat is. Mocht dit niet tot uw mogelijkheden behoren, dan zijn wij ook heel blij met een eenmalige donatie.

Toekomst spaarfonds

Er is ook een “toekomst spaarfonds”, bedoeld als spaarfonds voor “als het kind 18 jaar wordt” en een universitaire studie wil volgen, een eigen zaak wil beginnen, of gaat trouwen. Als u hier niet aan mee kunt doen, zoeken wij hiervoor andere sponsors. Dan heeft het kind 2 sponsors.

Dit toekomstige spaarfonds is bedacht door Sarada, èèn van de moeders van onze tehuizen, omdat zij de problemen zag die ontstonden, als kinderen volwassen werden en na hun 18e verjaardag in de steek gelaten werden, en terugvielen in hun oude gedrag van drugs en prostitutie. Omdat wij streven naar lange termijn oplossingen voor onze kinderen, zou het fijn zijn als u ons daarbij financieel kunt helpen, totdat deze kinderen zonder hulp op eigen benen kunnen staan. Bent u hiertoe niet in staat, laat het ons zo snel mogelijk weten.

Wij gaan door met het uitbreiden van onze “kindertehuis projecten”. We zijn ook begonnen met het sponsoren van kinderen, die thuis bij hun ouders wonen, zodat ook zij gebruik kunnen maken van ons onderwijsprogramma.
